🛠️ 1.6 Update [BETA] - Read Why
  • Guard Villagers have been completely rewrited.

    • They now have an eating animation as well as when they open doors. Armor shouldn't clip anymore and all the helmet layer now works.
    • Their attack animations and idle weapon placement have been refined. It now use a variable system, before it was done as one attack per model. Now all the melee weapons are defined in one unique model. Another model defines bows and crossbows, only a third one for riffle and pistols. (Musket Mod for now)
    • Melee attacks and idle placement are now different for Swords, Axes, Trident, Mace, Hoes and Shield but also support my Songs Of War Custom Weapons resource pack with 5 name dependant animations.

I am hoping this system allow me to add new weapon support way more easily than before.

There is a catch though! The way animations works is you have to define a math formula for each axis of rotation and translation. I'm afraid all those variables might cause some FPS drops because it adds a LOT of code. I have done some testing myself, but my computer is quite good, I have not seen any problems so far. So I'll let the pack in BETA for some time to get feedback from you all, especially if you have a low end computer, I would appreciate if you can compare the 1.5.x series to 1.6.x

Once this performance issues are clarified, I plan to support Villager Recruits since Fresh Friends is not updated anymore. They will use the same animations as Guard Villagers.

  • Other reasons of this being a BETA:

    • I only added the villager model of guards for this BETA. Steve Model will come anytime soon, also after those performance issues are fixed.
    • Forge Guard have their arms glitching from time to time. You might see some Z-Fighting with their biome outfit, and they sometimes wiggle a bit time to time. I don't know how to cancel that in my animations so you don't see 2 set of arms. This is quite subtle but still noticable.
    • I also finally added compat with Better Mob Combat. But this is also not perfect. On Fabric you might need to refresh the resource pack a few times (F3+T) for the armor to synchronize with the guard models.
    • On Forge with Better Mob Combat the head will clip to the helmet while they're attacking. I don't know which mod is broken, or if this is on me. But this is better than having some 4 handed guards for now! :P
    • They will not hold their weapon in custom location when using Better Mob Combat! (This only affects the melee guards)

And I have not checked the other supported mods, I will update once I do!

This pack aims to bring compatibility for Fresh Animations with mods!

This pack is not affiliated with FreshLX, and meant to be used alongside his pack.

Make sure to use latest of Entity Texture Features & Entity Model Features mod. I want to cover mods from both Forge and Fabric, and try to retain how texture is mapped for each mod, so you can easily still have your own. It will be notified if for whatever reason I can't. This pack should work with any Minecraft Version that EMF/ETF supports. OptiFine does NOT cover modded entity support so it is not compatible.

(I won't add compatibility to crazy boss mods or things that is not in line with the vanilla feel) Please suggest mods that are up to date with at least 1.19.x or 1.20.x :P

Disclaimer! You might experience some bugs, like a helmet on an entity is not following the head correctly, or some attacks won't have animations. In some case it might be me, or it could be the way the mod works with EMF which is not possible to fix.
