Tectonic has been entirely rewritten from the ground up!
- Massively altered the way the biome layout works. While the explanation of what changed is technical, the bottom line is that other biome mods should have next to no issues with Tectonic! The issues with biomes being in the completely wrong terrain has been abolished, so mountain peak biome on flat terrain or river biomes plastered on top of mountain ranges when using Terrablender are gone.
- Revised the terrain shaping to be less flat. While the large expanses of flat terrain still exist, there should be more interesting terrain breaking that up. You'll now find new terrain shapes like multi-tiered plateaus, and windswept terrain (with more terrain shapes coming in future versions). Don't worry though; special terrain features from prior versions like underground rivers and desert dunes have carried over.
- Refreshed cave generation. Caves are rarer yet overall bigger. There's also now a deep variant of underground rivers with lava instead of water!
- Removed all Tectonic biomes and improvements to vanilla biomes. This is for multiple reasons, but it comes down to this: It makes the mod more compatible with mods that add biomes and change existing ones, and some of these removed biome improvements from Tectonic have been and/or will be carried over into my other mods like Not Just Biomes. Tectonic biomes remain in the files to keep old worlds from corrupting.
Changes
- Fixed grass and dirt not generating in Jungles and Savannas.
Changes
- Removed custom Tectonic trees
- Tectonic trees had some performance issues that could not be fixed
- Tectonic is shifting towards focusing solely on terrain generation, and this is the first step towards that. If you wish to still have improved tree generation, I'd recommend checking out Arboria
- Dead desert trees and Evergreen trees remain in the pack
- Fixed an issue with stone/packed mud on cliffs
- Ported stone/packed mud on cliffs to 1.18.2
- Unified version numbers across all datapack and mod versions to 1.1.10
- Updated mod summary and authors
- Fixed a critical Terratonic issue. Terratonic worlds created in v1.1.9 can not be opened in this version or any future version.
First 1.19.4 datapack release.
First 1.19.4 mod release.
Changes
- Added a file so that the new worldgen datapack map website uses the correct colors for Tectonic biomes
Other than bug fixes, this will likely be the last version of Tectonic until Minecraft 1.20 releases. My time and effort is going to be spent on other projects.
Additions
- Added stone generation to steeper areas of the terrain. In Savannas and Jungles, this is packed mud instead.
Changes
- Sugarcane placement has been increased where sand generates, and the amount of sugarcane per patch on average has increased.
- This change has been made to combat the fact that biomes in Tectonic without sand generation do not have sugarcane at all.
- Clay now generates in rivers and is not just limited to Lush Caves and Swamps.
- Fixed an issue with strange riverbed generation in modded biomes. These will now use vanilla's disks of sand, gravel, and clay instead of just dirt.
Changes
- Fixed a bug where Glacial Chasm ice spikes generated in warm terrain. This also fixes the monolith generation.
- Fixed Alpha Islands generating with custom Tectonic trees.
