Aurora's Shaders v1.8
- Tweaked nether colors
- Improved amethyst buds
- Fixed bug with water
- Strengthened blocklight to improve interior builds
- Made color grading slightly more green
- Reversion to Complimentary 5.0.1/Aurora's v1.5 base
- Re-re-moved (some) item and block glow
- Distant horizons is no longer supported (sorry!)
- Tweaked colors a bit
Confirmed compatibility with 1.20.5
-
Improved water for the Timelapse and Cinematic presets in numerous ways:
- Made water color look more vanilla-ish.
- Made water objectively BETTER by fixing a bug where shallow water would be much more transparent when viewed from a distance.
- Increased transparency for reflections.
-
Made lava buckets and tridents look better when held in the player's hand by making lighting consistent across their entire textures.
PS. I've tested these shaders with Distant Horizons, and they are functional but could use some polishing with the additional LODs.
Fixes nether and grass in 1.20.4 (I had no idea 1.20.4 was so broken)
Minor update, just a few tweaks
- Improved performance for the Vanilla Plus and PvP presets by turning off Edge Shadow Quality, this has the nice side effect of making the presets look better as well.
- Enabled world outline for the Vanilla Plus preset
It's the largest update yet!!! Thanks to everyone for 10,000 downloads
-
Completely revamped the look of the shaders
-
Added custom profiles to fit different scenarios:
Vanilla+: More or less the same v1.2.
PvP: Adds a world outline and makes dark areas (like caves and night time) easier to see, optimized for PvP gamemodes.
Timelapse: My new favorite. Basically Vanilla+ with a world outline and better graphics settings. Enabled by default.
Cinematic: Timelapse with realtime shadows.
Profiles can be found in the shaderpack settings
-
Made nights more visible and vanilla-like for all profiles.
IMPORTANT: If you have configured the shader settings on a prior version and are updating, you may need to click through the profiles list until it says "Timelapse" instead of "Custom" to experience the new update.
- Made shadows more pronounced again, same as version 1.0 and also same as vanilla

- Made the end generally brighter, looks more like vanilla and also better
- Made the end sky darker, looks more like vanilla and also better
- Greatly reduced the impact of time of day on lighting
- Made shadows less pronounced
- Did some color grading to make everything look right
