ETF & ANIMATICA (OR JUST OPTIFINE) IS REQUIRED FOR THIS PACK TO FUNCTION PROPERLY
as an avid fan of vanilla+ style modding & tweaking, creepers have always stuck out in the sense that they've remained unchanged texture-wise through various updates and even through the overhauling of minecraft textures back in 1.14.
now, the problem with that is, the creeper's original texture was meant to blend in with it's environment. and they did! but after the addition of colormaps, and overhauling of textures, they stick out like a sore thumb, and that camouflage aspect was lost to time.
after looking around for resource packs that address such, i began to notice that all of them have been long since abandoned, too inaccurate, or far too stylized to fit with vanilla. so i've taken matters into my own hands, with the creation & release of my biome-creeper resource pack!
featuring:
colormap accurate variants! every grass-based creeper's coloring is exact with it's respective biome's grass block
heights too! i wanted to do more than just blanket relatively related biomes with 1 texture and call it a day; the generation of certain biomes is taken into account and the creeper's textures change accordingly
compatible with fresh animations! fully works out of the box with fa; to enable the subtle face & eyes, replace all textures with their alternatives found in the "FACE-VARIANTS" folders. these can be found in:
- textures/entity/creeper
- optifine/mob/creeper
- optifine/anim/[animated creeper texture]
planned updates:
emissives addon for the sculk creeper for better compatibility and camouflage with those who have emissive sculk blocks
name tag functionality, so non-naturally spawning creepers can still be obtained in survival (creeper zoo, anyone?)
added in {v1.1}
dimensional creeper variants for the nether and end biomes (we won't name any names, but someone tracked some creeper spores into the other dimensions. hopefully nothing bad comes of it!)
modded biome compatibility! at the moment only cavernous & (depending on spare time) terralith are planned; depending on support and the amount of requests for different mods, it's possible this may be separated into an addon pack for organization's sake
support for 1.21 and onward; i made this specifically because all the other ones weren't being updated, so i intend to maintain this one!
