- Stopped using signs and am now relying entirely on storage to format healthbars and damage indications.
PLACE THIS FILE IN BOTH /datapacks AND IN /resourcepacks
Changes:- This update works with and takes advantage of 1.19.4's new Text Entities. This leads to better performance and some QOL updates.
- Better Syncing is a new option enabled by default. It makes text entities ride on entities (except for players as that is not possible, and entities that can be ridden in vanilla)
- Sync Ridable Mobs is a new option disabled by default. When both Better Syncing and Sync Ridable Mobs is on, it forces Health Bars to ride mobs such as Horses and Llamas. **Caution**, as this prevents you from right-clicking the mob to ride them while the Health Bar is visible. Without it enabled, the Health Bars use the older way to follow the entity.
- The Predictive Sync option has been removed as it wasn't working in this update and Better Syncing is literally better anyway.
- Both the Assets (Resourcepack) and the Data (Datapack) are now bundled together in one file. This means you need to drop this one file in BOTH the Datapack folder in your world and in the Resourcepack folder in your .minecraft directory. You also have to enable the Resourcepack as usual. This just reduces the amount of files you have to download and makes it simpler to develop.
- There is no longer a background behind the Health Bar.
- You should no longer see Health Bars through walls. Because of this, the range for Health Bars have been increased to 30 blocks.
- You should no longer see your own Health Bar when you look up. Because of this, Health Bars are now enabled by default on Players.
- Mobs that have not had their health updated in a while should not have their Health Bars show up when you enter their range again.
Since most people use this datapack with the resourcepack, I will now be publishing 2 files with each update. One is the normal one, while the second one will have the Custom Icons and Status Effects options enabled by default- so you do not have to enable it everytime you play a world. Also makes it easier for modpack developers to just drop it in and not have to edit it themselves.
Fixes:
- Fixed issue where mobs in the Nether/End would not have working health bars or damage indications.
- Internal changes with the way icons are stored/retrieved in the resourcepack and datapack.
