update to a brand new* homemade tiers api with efficient caching and smart fetching! yay!
a shiny and beautiful update checking system has also been added to make sure everyone stays up to date
also fixes a few bugs:
- only request v4 uuids
- parse returned uuids correctly
- fix a small crash in the update checker
