Scythes
The new weapon - scythes. Deals one more damage than a sword, but has a slower attack speed and a new effect: "Bleeding". When this effect is applied, the creature takes damage every second of that effect. Each scythe has a different amount of time for which it gives this effect. Also, with the "Vampire" effect, you can increase the amount of time the scythe will deal damage to the creature you hit. If you are fighting a person with a scythe or a Bleed enchantment, you should drink the "Bleed Protection" potion. This effect will help you avoid bleeding.
To craft the "Vampire" potion, you need a mundane potion and a glistering watermelon slice.
You need awkward potion and glowstone dust to craft the "Bleed Protection" potion.
To craft a scythe, you need two sticks and three units of the material you want your scythe to be made of.
Also, you can craft an improved version of the scythe that imposes the "Bleeding" effect for a longer period of time. Simply combine redstone and scythe in the blacksmith's table. Improved scythes can be repaired with redstone. Also, scythes and their improved versions are not available in all materials, for balance.
See JEI/EMI/REI for all recipes.
Daggers
Daggers deals two less damage than swords, but have a higher attack speed. The Golden Dagger has the highest speed: 2.4, but sacrifices its durability. The most optimal dagger is, of course, the netherite. It deals damage like the iron sword, but with a higher attack speed.
To craft a dagger you don't need a workbench, just a stick with one unit of material, which is what your dagger will be made of.
Hammers
This is the most serious weapon in New Vanilla Items.
The hammer has 4 more damage than the sword, but the lowest attack speed: just 0.7. But a netherite hammer enchanted for sharpness two will leave a zombie, skeleton, and other creatures with 20 HP (10 hearts) with nothing more than half a heart. Anyway, I think you'll find it's a killer weapon.
Obsidian set
The obsidian set is an iron set with the highest durability. Except for the pickaxe - the durability is the same, but it will be able to mine obsidian.
Emerald set
Maybe it's unbalanced, but the emerald set is something between diamond and netherite. Live with it.
Food
Simple food
Emerald Carrots - carrots and 8 nuggets of emerald. Emerald Potatoes - potatoes and 8 emerald nuggets. Gold Potato - a potato and 8 nuggets of gold.
Unusual food
Fried bread. Prepared by smoking bread.
Jam. You can drink it even if you are not hungry. It is crafted from two of any berries and a bottle.
Caramel. Prepared by melting sugar in an furnace. When you combine caramel with a bottle, you will create a bottle of caramel that can be mixed in the workbench with an apple to create a caramelized apple.
Rotten flesh is now useful: mix seven rotten flesh with two units of sugar, producing normal flesh. Afterwards, roast it in the furnace for fried flesh.
